Day 1: BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS / VIRGINIA:   Excitement mounts as our adventure begins. We travel northeast into the Blue Ridge Mountains, spending our first night in the beautiful valley of Virginia.
Day 2: GETTYSBURG, PA / BATTLEFIELD TOUR:   Making our way north, we arrive in Gettysburg where we have a guided tour of Gettysburg National Military Park. Take a step back in history as we pass important monuments and historical settings of this world-renowned battle site.
Day 3: HERSHEY, PA / CHOCOLATE WORLD / TROLLEY TOUR OF CHOCOLATE TOWN / FOUNDER’S HALL / LUNCH @ LEBBIE LEBKICHER’S:   Kids of all ages enjoy Hershey. At Chocolate World, an automated tour simulates the production of chocolate from bean to candy bar. Then Hershey Trolley Works’ period dressed trolley conductors entertain and offer interesting tidbits while you take a ride through Chocolate Town. You will visit Founder’s Hall, a testimonial to the compassion of Milton and Catherine Hershey. After a delicious lunch at Lebbie Lebkichers, we continue to New Jersey where we overnight in Fairfield. (L)
Day 4: YANKEE CANDLE COMPANY / LUNCH @ CHANDLER’S / SALEM CITY TOUR:   In Massachusetts we visit Yankee Candle Company. This flagship store is an impressive and unusual stop, with a huge Christmas store, Bavarian musicians, the Nutcracker Castle and much more! A traditional New England lunch is included. On a trolley tour of Salem, MA we will travel beyond the mythology of the witchcraft hysteria into the fascinating realm of Salem’s literary and maritime history. Our tour takes you past historic cemeteries, sea captain’s homes, the House of the Seven Gables, and more. Accommodations are in Wells, Maine. (L)
Day 5: KENNEBUNKPORT, ME / CADILLAC MOUNTAIN / SEAFOOD DINNER / BAR HARBOR, ME:   Enjoy a fascinating tour of Kennebunkport, historically a ship building and fishing village, and summer home of former President George H. W. Bush. As we travel along Ocean Avenue you will see large seaside estates. We continue along the coast to Bar Harbor, the Maine of the storybooks. Waves crash against the granite coastline of Cadillac Mountain. From the top you'll experience beauty unlike any you've ever seen! A New England seafood dinner awaits this evening. (D)
Day 6: FERRY BOAT / NOVA SCOTIA / EVANGELINE COUNTRY / GRAND PRE NATIONAL PARK / PEGGY'S COVE / HALIFAX, NS, CN:   We leave the States behind as we cross by ferry to Yarmouth. Our Nova Scotia adventure begins we travel through the beautiful Annapolis Valley. The Grand Pre National Park, an Acadian Village immortalized by Longfellow's Poem "Evangeline," will be a fun, educational stop. This afternoon we visit one of the most photographed spots in all of North America - Peggy's Cove with its beautiful lighthouse clinging to the rugged coastline. There will be time to explore this little village before continuing to Halifax for the night. (BB)
Day 7: HALIFAX CITY TOUR / THE CITADEL / PORT HASTINGS, NS, CN:   This morning we’ll tour the city of Halifax, situated on and about Citadel Hill, and overlooking one of the world’s finest harbors. Our tour includes the beautiful Public Gardens and the Citadel Fortress. We continue to Port Hastings, our home for two nights.
Day 8: CABOT TRAIL / LUNCH / ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL MUSEUM / PORT HASTINGS, NS, CN:   Have your cameras ready! We are going to see some of the most breathtaking scenery yet as we travel the famous Cabot Trail. See awesome views from windswept peaks, infinite steeps of sawtooth rock, lonely beaches, and heart-stopping drops down sheer cliff sides. After an included lunch we depart, stopping in Baddeck to visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. (L)
Day 9: FERRY TO PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND / CHARLOTTESTOWN, PEI / HOUSE OF GREEN GABLES / CONFEDERATION BRIDGE / NEW BRUNSWICK:   We board our ferry this morning to cross to Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. Following the King’s Byway we pass potato fields and farming areas to Charlottestown. After a tour of this capital city we continue to Cavendish for a tour of "House of Green Gables.” The Green Gables Farmhouse was the basis of the Anne of Green Gables book series. On our way to the province of New Brunswick, we cross the spectacular Confederation Bridge. At eight miles long, this is the longest bridge over ice covered waters in the world. We cross over the Northumberland Strait to Moncton, NB.
Day 10: MONCTON, NB / MAGNETIC HILL / LUNCH @ REVERSING FALLS / FREDERICTON CITY TOUR / FREDERICTON, NB, CN   Experience the mystery of Magnetic Hill! You will be amazed as our motorcoach appears to travel uphill by itself. In St. John we’ll visit the famous Reversing Falls rapids, where the river flows 15 feet uphill at half tide, causing a whirling torrent. Enjoy an included lunch in the restaurant with a wonderful view of the falls. We continue to Fredericton, capital city of New Brunswick, where you will find the history interesting and enlightening. Dinner is included here. (L)
Day 11: HARTLAND COVERED BRIDGE / NORTH CONWAY, NH:   In Hartland we stop for photos at the world's longest covered bridge before crossing the U.S. border into Maine. Our accommodations are in the resort town of North Conway, which boasts tax-free discount designer outlet shopping! This small picturesque village is nestled directly in the heart of the White Mountains.
Day 12: LUNCH & TOUR @ MOUNT WASHINGTON HOTEL / CANNON MOUNTAIN ARIAL TRAMWAY / BRATTLEBORO, VT:   Enjoy the beautiful pallet of fall colors that surround us as we travel to Mount Washington Valley in the White Mountains. The Mount Washington Hotel is one of the last surviving grand hotels in New Hampshire and where the history is as grand as the hotel itself. After an included lunch and tour at the Hotel, we’ll view the brilliantly colored fall foliage from an enclosed tramway rising 2,022 feet over a distance of one mile to the Cannon Mountain Summit - the view is magnificent! Day 13: BENNINGTON BATTLE MONUMENT / BENNINGTON MUSEUM / CORNING GLASS MUSEUM / PAINTED POST, NY:   After a driving tour of Bennington, VT, headquarters for Ethan Allen’s Green Mountain Boys, we continue to Corning, NY, home of Corning Glass Museum. You'll see glass of every description, including glassware that's more than 3,000 years old. Watch skilled artisans transform molten glass into world-renowned Steuben Crystal. You May want to purchase some Corning Ware in the outlet while here.
Day 14: JAMESTOWN, NY / LUCY-DESI MUSEUM / COLUMBUS, OH:   Today we pay homage to two TV greats – Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball. The Lucy-Desi Museum houses exhibits recounting the history of comedy, and the couple's impact on the television industry. We continue to Ohio for the night.
Day 15: JEFFERSONVILLE, IN / LUNCH / HOME:   In 15 days we have been in 17 states and three Canadian provinces; now it’s time to go home! At a special lunch in Jeffersonville, we recall all the wonderful sights we have seen, and struggle to describe the beauty of the brilliant fall colors. We are now ready to share memories of our New England and Nova Scotia experience with family and friends. (L)
