Day 1: COLUMBUS, OH:   Our relationship with Canada is much like the relationship between siblings – marked by feuds, rivalry, and alliances cultivated over a period of 400 years. Today Canada welcomes her neighbors to the south with open arms and is ready to share her culture, history, and natural beauty. Our tour will take us through the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. Today we get acquainted as we begin our tour to Canada’s Heartland. Traveling through Tennessee and Kentucky, we spend our first night in the Columbus, Ohio area.
Day 2: NIAGARA FALLS, ON, CN / IMAX THEATRE, “THE FALLS MOVIE” / DINNER @ FALLSVIEW RESTAURANT:   We continue north through Ohio, then along the shores of Lake Erie arriving at Niagara Falls, Ontario mid-afternoon. Our first experience with the Falls is at the IMAX Theatre, “The Falls Movie: Legends and Daredevils,” where you’ll experience the Falls like never before! After freshening up, we will enjoy an included dinner at Fallsview Restaurant overlooking the Falls. We stay two nights in Niagara. (B, D)
Day 3: NIAGARA GUIDED TOUR / MAID OF THE MIST BOAT RIDE / FREE TIME / NIAGARA FALLS, ON, CN:   Our local guide takes us on a tour of the Niagara Falls area including Whirlpool Rapids, hydroelectric power stations, Floral Clock, and more! The Maid of the Mist boat tour takes us within the Horseshoe Basin to the very edge of the cascading Niagara where you will feel the powerful Falls! The remainder of the day is at your leisure to enjoy and savor your time in Niagara Falls. You will have the option to upgrade your hotel room to a falls-view room. (B)
Day 4: TOUR TORONTO / CASA LOMA CASTLE / DINNER / TORONTO, ON, CN:   With wonderful memories of the magnificent Niagara Falls, we continue to Toronto, a rich and charming metropolitan city. On a guided tour we will see such places as Harbor Front, Canadian Tower, Skydome, Eaton Centre and more. At Casa Loma we step back in time to a period of European splendor. Canada’s foremost castle is complete with secret passages, an 800-foot tunnel, tower, stables, and an estate garden. A special dinner is included this evening. Overnight in Toronto. (D)
Day 5: OTTAWA, PQ / CANADIAN MUSEUM OF CIVILIZATION / DINNER @ TUCKER’S MARKETPLACE / OTTAWA, ON, CN:   Our next stop is Ottawa, a city divided by the Ottawa River into two provinces – Ontario and Quebec. Do you still feel as if you are in Europe? Only now, it seems to be England. The British influence is very evident in Ottawa. The Canadian Museum of Civilization traces the culture of Canada from the Vikings to the present day. On a self-guided tour, you can visit the Great Hall and the gigantic totem poles, the First Nations Hall to learn about the native North Americans, visit reconstructed buildings and villages, and so much more. The magnificent architecture is worth the visit in itself! After checking into our hotel and freshening up, we depart for a special dinner at Tucker’s Marketplace. Overnight in Ottawa. (B, D)
Day 6: OTTAWA, ON / PARLIAMENT HOUSE / DINNER THEATRE @ LE FESTIN DU GOVERNEUR / TASTE OF FRANCE / MONTREAL, PQ, CN:   At the top of Parliament Hill sits three Gothic-Revival-style buildings that house the governmental offices. After witnessing the Changing of the Guards and touring Ottawa’s elegant Parliament Buildings, we continue to Montreal, our home for three nights. This evening you are in for a treat at Le Festin du Governeur (The Governor's Feast) Dinner-Theater (included) where we have a taste of France as we enjoy French cooking and humor. (B, D)
Day 7: MONTREAL CITY TOUR / FREE TIME / MONTREAL, PQ, CN:   Today our guide shows us some fascinating, as well as hidden, parts of the city. Under the skyscrapers and busy streets of Montreal lies another city with shops, restaurants, department stores, libraries, theatres and transportation. You name it and it’s there for your out-of-the-weather enjoyment! We have been learning some easy French greetings and words on our journey; now you can practice them on some of the locals. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy this unique and festive city. (B)
Day 8: QUEBEC CITY, CN / TOUR FAIRMONT LE CHATEAU FRONTENAC HOTEL / LUNCH @ CAFÉ DE LA TERRASSE / OLD QUEBEC CITY TOUR / MONTMORENCY FALLS PARK / MONTREAL, PQ, CN:   Mid-morning finds us in Old Quebec, the heart of one of the most beautiful cities in the world. For more than a hundred years now, food lovers from around the world have enjoyed the art of Quebec dining at Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac. After a tour of this hotel with its castle-like architecture and turrets, we will enjoy an included lunch at Café de la Terrasse while viewing the St. Lawrence River below. Our guide will tour us around the historic city of Quebec in French Canada. The atmosphere in this walled city brings to mind the streets of France. On our city tour, we will see the Parliament buildings, Place-Royale, and many other highlights. Then we head to a spot where the St. Lawrence River and the Montmorency River meet and plunge from a full 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls! Montmorency Falls is an attraction we don’t want to miss. We return to Montreal for the night. (L)
Day 9: DUTY FREE SHOPPING / ALEXANDRIA, BAY, NY / 1000 ISLANDS LUNCH CRUISE / NEW YORK:   We say au revoir to Canada as our motorcoach turns south. After a stop at the Duty Free Store, we cross the border into the good ole U.S. of A.! At the end of Lake Ontario is the region known as 1000 Islands. In Alexandria Bay, in upstate New York, we embark on a scenic lunch cruise in the heart of 1000 Islands. Many of these islands were settled in the 1900’s by millionaires whose opulent summer homes made the area famous. We will visit Boldt Castle on Heart Island, an impressive structure rising six stories. Hear, we learn of the lifestyle of George and Louise Boldt and the development of 1000 Islands. Our overnight is in the Syracuse, NY area. (L)
Day 10: CORNING, NY / CORNING GLASS MUSEUM / BEDFORD, PA:   Before leaving New York, we visit Corning Glass Museum to see how the popular glassware is produced. The museum contains over 40,000 objects representing over 3500 years of glass and glass-making. There will be time for shopping in the town of Corning for some Corning Ware treasures before departing. We continue south, and overnight in Bedford. (B)
Day 11: MOUNTAINS OF WEST VIRGINIA / BLENKO GLASS MUSEUM / FAREWELL DINNER / HUNTINGTON, WV:   Our own nation has so much beautiful scenery to be proud of. As we travel through West Virginia you will see some of the most beautiful mountain and valley scenery that you will see anywhere. In Milton, we visit Blenko Glass Museum to see works of art in colorful and creative designs. Blenko is a leader in the production of stained glass. Tonight is our last night, and a special dinner is the best way to cap off a wonderful tour of our northern neighbor. (B, D)
Day 12: HOME:   We have had a wonderful eleven days together; now it is time to make our way home. Our drive through the Bluegrass State of Kentucky will take us there with good memories of the Canada we have come to know and appreciate on this trip. (B)
